The 21st century is characterized by a remarkable convergence in the study of complex adaptive systems. From the intricate neural architectures of the human brain to the vast, computationally-intensive structures of Large Language Models (LLMs), a shared set of fundamental challenges has emerged. At the heart of these challenges lies the problem of learning: how does any system, biological or artificial, transform the raw, high-dimensional flux of experience into stable, generalizable knowledge that can guide future action?
